Many mums choose to work part-time after having children opting to start their own businesses, so they can not only be in control of their hours but hopefully also their destiny! Below are some enterprising mums who have chosen to go it alone. Please do let us know if we haven´t mentioned your business. We try our hardest to support our Mums in Business and you can too by looking at the list below and if you need a product or service listed then get in contact with that mum!

  • Michaela Hansen - Granny Aupair

    Based in Hamburg, Granpreneur Michaela Hansen (52) is the founder of Granny Aupair, which sends women aged 50plus abroad as au pairs, housesitters and companions. The idea to place women over 50 with host families was born in 2010 after watching a program about young aupairs and realizing there was no similar offer for older women. Today Michaela Hansen’s Granny Aupair initiative enables women to travel and the families they stay with get really experienced childcare.

In individual sessions for women during pregnancy and postnatally Ania works holistically, drawing from a range of therapeutic techniques to help women find comfort and deep relaxation.  Ania teaches internationally on the topic of Baby Development offering Berlin workshops on understanding your newborn baby and supporting movement development. She provides an individual home consultation service for families via Skype or in person to  help parents meet their baby’s early developmental needs or address specific issues such as feeding, soothing and sleep. Ania combines years of training and professional experience with her personal, practical knowledge as a mother of three. This allows her to work with a real depth of understanding, humour and a realistic attitude. Her intention is to enrich your experience and deepen your understanding of your baby’s needs while supporting and respecting your choices. She is highly qualified which includes a Bachelor in Health Sciences and Homeopathy and she has been practising since 1998, both in London and now in Berlin. Her main form of treatment is homeopathy but herbs, flower remedies, nutritional supplements and lifestyle advice is also given where appropriate.
