"We always go in summer as its not so exciting in the winter. The kids love running around the gardens and tire themselves out in all the free space - there are lots of shady places to play as well. There is a playground (but you need to pay to go in). We always take a picnic and end up there for hours with friends enjoying the beautiful gardents. If you stay long enough there is a great light show at night." (JD, Feb 2013)

  • Silo Outdoor Swimming Pool

    Recommended by Emma Vincent

Centro Yoga Om, Vilanova i la Geltru Image

There are quite a few outdoor swimming pools in Frankfurt which are all great for kids in the summer. Our favourite one is the Freibad Silo as it has quite a lot of things to do in addition to the fabulous swimming pools For older kids there is volleyball, table tennis and mini golf and for younger ones a nice playground. There is a cafe there where you can buy food and drink and a large grassy area for sunbathing.(EV, October 2013)

  • Frankfurt English Theatre

    Recommended by Lori Mann

Centro Yoga Om, Vilanova i la Geltru Image

The English Theatre is a theatre in Frankfurt which shows a number of international (mainly English) theatre productions throughout the year.
    Gallusanlage 7, 60329 Frankfurt, Hesse, Germany www.english-theatre.de

"I can absolutely recommend this theatre. We have been to see quite a few performances here and its great to watch a play in English. Generally the performances and sets have been fantastic. Tickets are reasonably priced and as its quite a small theatre the seats all have a good view of the stage. If you subscribe to their newsletter you can find out whats on. There is a bar there for refreshments" (LM, Nov 2013).
