One of the worlds largest science and technology museums, the Deutsches Museum is open daily from 09:00 to 17:00 (Kids Kingdom closes 16:30, last admission 16:00)
Museumsinsel 1, 80538 Munich (+49) (0)89 / 2179-1 www.deutsches-museum.de
"The Kids Kingdom is fantastic with hundreds of activites and games for little ones between 3 and 7. I have been lots of times with my kids and they never seem to bore of it. Great to see them learning about science and technology whilst playing and enjoying themselves. They also love the adult exhibitions - in particularly the planes and ships. For older children there are more structured activities such as an inventors trail and DNA visitors laboratory. There is so much to see so dont expect you are going to get it all done in one day! . The exhibition texts appear in two languages: German and English but all the activities and classes are in German. It doesnt matter for the little ones in Kids Kingdom as its so hands-on but obviously would impact the older childrens activities" (CB, Feb 2013)

The English Garden in Munich is a huge 900 acre park stretching from the city centre to the North East of Munich. It is one of the worlds largest public parks (bigger than New Yorks Central Park). There are 4 beer gardens in the park as well as a large river. The best way to reach it is on bus 54 from "Muenchner Freiheit" tube station (Stop "Chinesischer Turm").
"As we dont have a large garden for the kids to play we are here ALL the time riding our bikes, having picnics and swimming in the river in the summer. In the winter its great for sledging and there are beautiful christmas markets. Great artifical wave in the river where you can watch people surfing! If you head for the "Hirschau"beer garden you can enjoy some live jazz whilst the kids entertain themselves at the playground or minigolf right next door." (CB, Feb 2013)

Tierparkstrasse 30, 81543 Munich (+49) 89625080 www.tierpark-hellabrunn.de
"The zoo feels well kept and compared to other zoos the animals seem happy and have quite a bit of space to roam around - you dont get that horrible cagey feeling you do with other zoos. Lots of playgrounds for the kids and a cute petting zoo. You can rent prams for little ones there - as there is a lot to see with toddlers it is advised to bring a buggy or rent one." (EB, Feb 2013)

Open all year round, 7 days a week, BMW Welt offers you a tour of BMW, showcasing new and old cars as well as explaining the technology behind the brand.
Am Olympiapark 1, 80809 München www.bmw-welt.de
"For car crazy boys and girls, this is an absolute must as you get to explore the world of BMW and see inside lots of different cars and bikes - including a formula one car and also their "cars of the future". Whilst our children enjoyed it immensely I found the tour guide a little too salesy! Be warned not to take husbands or you might walk away with a brand new car!" (KC, Feb 2013)

"Coco Loco is a great place for young kids to go when its rainy and cold outside. With lots of climbing frames, ball pools, slides, trampolines etc you can wear them out whilst you have a coffee in the restaurant. We have also been to a few birthday parties here which the kids seem to love." (SH Nov 2013)
